Loránd Jakab received a Dipl.
Eng. degree
from the Technical
University of Cluj-Napoca,
Romania (UTCN)
in Telecommunication Engineering
in 2004. He is now a PhD candidate at the Technical University of
Catalonia (UPC)
and a reseach
project scholarship holder of the Advanced Broadband Communications
Center (CCABA)
since April 2005. His research interests include network security,
interdomain
network performance measurements and monitoring, intrusion
detection/prevention systems, distributed denial-of-service attacks and
botnets.
He participated in the Spanish
research project SAM
(Advanced Mobile Services) in 2004, and in
the EuQoS
(End-to-end Quality of Service support over heterogeneous networks)
project in 2005-2006, funded under 6th Framework Programme of
Information
Society Technologies. He is currently doing research under the umbrella
of the CONTENT
network of excellence and has been awarded a SATIN research scholarship.
